We’re here for you.

In the Big Stuff Health Share community, we pool funds to pay for major medical needs. It is an affordable way to fund your healthcare and help each other in times of need.

How it works

STEP 1: Contact our licensed medical professionals.

Do you have a medical need that may cost $2,000 or more?*

Contact our medical team before receiving non-emergency services.

Most of the time, you plan ahead before receiving medical care. (For example, you can foresee maternity exams or planned surgeries.) If it’s an emergency, call 911, then call/text our medical team as soon as you are able.

If our medical team does not recommend it, you may not receive community funds to pay for that expense.

The goal is to put community funds toward quality and cost-effective healthcare.

We partner with licensed primary care providers to guide you to great options. Our medical providers are caring, friendly, and professional. We do not limit you to networks, age requirements, or deadlines for your healthcare.

*This amount refers to your Initial Unshareable Amount (IUA). If you have another IUA, this amount applies here.

STEP 2: Get the healthcare you need, when you need it.

Tips:

  • Remember, Big Stuff Health Share is not an insurance product. Unless you have separate health insurance, you are a cash-pay (or self-pay) patient.

  • Please ask for cash-pay discounts to save you and the community money.

  • Keep in touch with our medical team if you have questions about your major medical need.

STEP 3: Submit your documentation.

Next, submit copies of documents related to your need HERE or with the button below.

  • Itemized statements. (These include detailed lists of all medical charges, not general balance statements.) Please send a photo or scanned copy and keep your original.

  • Detailed receipts. These should show any payments you have made toward your IUA (“Whatcha Gotta Pay First”). Please send a photo or scanned copy and keep your original.

STEP 4: Receive health share funds and pay the bills for your need.

Great job! You’ve contacted our healthcare team, received medical care, and submitted your documentation.

Our Member Advocate will review your documents. When all expenses are accounted for, we’ll send your funds by check or debit card with your shared amount. Use these funds from your community members to pay your medical bills directly.
